I didn’t realize this until I saw a video of two wolf cubs playing with a live field mouse. Was exactly like a dog with a squeak toy.
We had a baby squirrel in a tree in our backyard that made the exact sounds that our dog’s squeaky toy made.
You should see videos of farm dogs. Rolling hay and dogs just ragdolling rats.
